Employee Gifting During the Pandemic

It should come as a surprise to no one that employee appreciation is especially important this year, while we are still in the thick of a global pandemic, and while many are still working remotely.

Pre-pandemic, employees could gather together for team building activities, lunches and awards ceremonies, where companies could recognize individuals and teams for their hard work and facilitate well-earned fun and relaxation. With all employees working remotely, group celebrations and instant gratification can be challenging, but they aren’t impossible.

Employees are mentally, physically, and emotionally exhausted.  The ones that are working on-site have added restraints and restrictions, and some are doing the job of multiple people. The ones working remotely are likely working longer hours. All are likely managing other full-time household responsibilities above and beyond what they were prior to March 2020. Show your appreciation by giving them a much-deserved utility Gift to be used by them and their entire family together

While business is slow and companies continue to furlough employees, it is an integral time to show your current employees that you appreciate and care for them. As this virus continues to affect the nation, consider how you communicate and keep your employee’s top of mind during this trying time. Whether sending them a gift of appreciation or setting up a virtual Happy Hour, your employees are integral to keeping your business thriving.

To go this route, we recommend:

  1. Sending employees gift cards or spot awards.
  2. Hosting a virtual happy hour or pizza party.
  3. Hosting a virtual awards ceremony.
  4. Offering gift cards for grocery delivery like Grofers or BigBasket.
  5. Giving employees vouchers for food delivery services so they can choose the meal(s) of their choice.
  6. Mailing branded swag like masks, hand sanitizer, shirts, hats, notebooks, etc.
  7. And my favourite, sending out Chocolates and cakes celebrating birthdays and success of individual employees
